The company’s signature Amazon Voyage gets a new look beginning December 2017, when this immersive adventure moves to the Zafiro, a luxurious riverboat chartered especially for the exclusive amenities available to guests.
International Expeditions first launched their Peruvian Amazon experience almost four decades ago, and although guests will travel aboard a new riverboat, the hallmarks of IE’s flagship voyage remain the same. Travelers on IE’s exclusive 10-day voyage continue to travel deep into the heart of the pristine rainforest, viewing wildlife and meeting the people who live life in this incredible environment.
Back onboard the elegant, 19-cabin Zafiro, guests delight in an unprecedented level of service from an IE Expedition Leader as well as the ship’s staff and crew of 23, including a cruise director and local naturalist guides. Airy suites average more than 228 square feet, or upgrade to the 480 square foot Zafiro Suite, which features a private Jacuzzi and 180-degree views. All suites are air-conditioned and feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a desk, ample closet space and en-suite bathrooms. Upper deck suites also boast private balconies. In the Dining Room, guests sample regional specialties and contemporary cuisine infused with flavors from the surrounding rainforest, along with complimentary soft drinks, Peruvian beer, Pisco cocktails and house wine. Other public spaces include an onboard spa staffed by a wellness specialist, where guests can indulge in a massage or aromatherapy, and an Observation Deck featuring a bar, exercise room, reading lounge and even a spacious Jacuzzi with stunning views.
